Dental Technology

At Toronto's Uptowne Dental Centre we utilize dental technology and knowledge to provide our patients with the care they deserve. Our dentists use of a variety of medical and dental technologies in the services we offer to our patients. Our goal is to optimize the oral health, and overall health, of our patients.

Our Technology | Uptowne Dental Centre

CEREC Technology

CEREC, which stands for Chairside Economical Restorations of Esthetic Ceramic, is a technology that is utilized to decrease the time and need of a lab when it comes to the creation of tooth restorations and crowns.

For our patients, with the use of CEREC, a tooth restoration has never been simpler and more convenient.

Using a camera, our dentists can take a 3D impression of your teeth to create an accurate mould or tooth cast without the need for uncomfortable tray impressions.

iTero Scanner

An iTero scanner is a device used by our dentists to capture and map out the entirety of the mouth in preparation for dental services which are used to improve the bite and smile. The iTero scanner enables our dentists to determine the exact position of the teeth and gums, which in turn allows us to develop an exact treatment plan that meets your unique needs.

Once we have determined the exact shape and position of your teeth with the iTero scanner, we are able to create dental devices that are perfectly fit to your mouth.

Digital X-Rays

Digital X-rays are an extremely vital piece of equipment when it comes to ensuring the health of our patient’s teeth, gums, and mouth.

A digital dental X-ray aids our dentists in detecting dental problems that are not normally visible to the naked eye.

The X-ray allows dentists to detect problems such as decay, cracks and bone loss – problems that can become severe if they are not detected and treated.

Panoramic X-Rays

Panoramic X-rays are a technology that is able to capture the entirety of the mouth, including the teeth, jaw and surrounding tissue, all in one image.

Panoramic X-rays are important for everyday dental care and for the screening and prevention of serious issues.

Through the use of a non-invasive panoramic X-ray, our dentists are able to produce images of the mouth.

A panoramic X-ray can be utilized for the prevention and identification of a variety of different dental problems such as periodontal disease, oral cancer, cysts, impacted wisdom teeth, jaw disorders and more.
